T-minus 5 days

Hello there!

Welcome!!  I’m starting this blog for many reason but, the primary reason? An exciting upcoming trip!  See, my husband and I are taking off for a month to go back to Europe!  A MONTH you say?  Correct.  ONE WHOLE MONTH!  No, we are not celebrities with all the time and money in the world but, we are a hard-working couple that deserves some time off (YAHOOOOO!!!)!!  So, we are taking it!

Since this is my first post, I will preface this blog with a disclaimer.  I’m by no means a grammar guru, or a wordsmith.  I grew up with three languages in my ear so sometimes things get jumbled up… true story.  So, as stated above, I’m no Maya Angelou in fact, I may make up words at times. I’m simply writing for your enjoyment (and mine).  As a reciprocate of that, I’ll be documenting memories that we’ll enjoy for years to come.

The beginning….

We started throwing around the idea of going back to Europe probably 9 months ago.  We originally thought two weeks (since that’s a pretty decent amount of vacay time in the corporate world).  All we knew was that we wanted to go to some of the areas in Europe that we’ve never been.  On the list were: Copenhagen (AKA: happiest place in the world–it’s gotta be true, I saw it on Oprah), Prague and the Southeast coast of Italy.  As we started planning and talking about the logistics, it became obvious that flying into Copenhagen wasn’t the cheapest option ever however, Amsterdam?  Si. So, guess what? You got it, we’re starting the trip in Amsterdam (no complaints here)! Since that happened, it opened up all kinds of scenarios, suddenly we were planning to travel to London for two concerts which meant, we may as well stop into Paris to say ‘Bonjour’ and eat some ham & cheese baguettes.  Just by these few ‘add ons’, our two-week trip turned into ‘what the heck, let’s just take a month’! Here’s the thing about going to Europe–if you’re gonna go, you really gotta GO!  You’re literally a train away from the next amazing country… Gotta capitalize.

A month it is!  Starting in Amsterdam for some high life adventures…. I’m talking about bike riding of course.  Then to Copenhagen for some happiness.  Plane to Paris for some escargot, Chunnel to London for some concerts (fingers crossed that we still have money when we leave the UK:). Plane from London to the Southeast coast of Italy. Pick up our car, venture around and eat our way through the small coastal towns of Puglia. Head west to Napoli for some pizza and hang around the Amalfi Coast for a bit. Lastly, we’ll hit Florence/Tuscany and Rome for some olives, wine and romance!

We can’t wait for the adventure to begin and welcome all of you to join us! For those who don’t know me, I’m passionate about photography so there will definitely be pictures to go along with this incredibly exciting adventure/blog :)

Stay tuned!
